Logistics & Technology Services, Inc. Swimming Pool Operator in San Diego, California

Fortis Industries, Inc. is hiring for a full-time Swimming Pool Operator who will be responsible for ensuring the proper operations of the pools on our Southern California contracts. The swimming pool operator operates and maintains swimming pool and auxiliary equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-year experience in Aquatic Management and Pool Operations, or a Facilities Background
  • Certified Pool Operator Certification, In compliance to Local Health Codes
  • Working knowledge of Pool Water Chemistry and salt water chlorinator systems.
  • Basic Knowledge of Swimming Pool Equipment, including installation, troubleshooting, and basic overhaul
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Will be responsible for the daily; weekly and monthly maintenance of the pools and for completing the pool log and checklists.
  • Will be responsible for checking the water Chemistry Levels and insuring they remain at proper levels
  • Will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing minor repairs.
  • Will be responsible for inspecting the pools for Health Department Compliance of Operational and Safety concerns.
  • Will be responsible for changing chlorine tanks as required.
  • Will be responsible for insuring that the water is clean and ready for use by removing debris.
  • Will be responsible for cleaning the pools using such aids as underwater vacuum cleaner, hose, brush, detergent, acid solution, and sander.
  • Will be responsible to inspect and replace loose or damaged tile.
  • Will be responsible for cleaning and repairing filter systems.

Observations:

  • Will be responsible for checking equipment and chemical inventories, and any restocking needs
  • Will be responsible for providing necessary information regarding renovation or annual maintenance needs.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:

  • Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with power and hand tools such as drills, electric saws, hammers, sewer snakes, etc.
  • Respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, jump and carry heavy loads.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 100 pounds.
  • Able to maneuver on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in situations.

Pay:$23.18 per hrs. plus Health and Welfare of $4.57 per hrs. ( max of 40 hrs. per week)
