SAIC Software Quality Assurance Engineer in SAN DIEGO, California

Description

SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This new program is part of a broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats.

SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer in support of our United States Air Force customer. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the entire software development life cycle. This role will ensure reliability and performance of software by timely execution of SQA activities such as requirements traceability, product reviews, peer reviews, process excellence, test excellence, software audits, non-conformance control, metrics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis related to solution design, requirements, specifications, other technical design documents to establish well defined and adequately structured test strategies and test architectures

  • Define SQA process/standards for software development team.

  • Ensure all processes are adhered to appropriately throughout project lifecycles.

  • Ensure all existing processes are fully documented, suggesting improvements, updating documentation, and communicating.

  • Accurately estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs; monitor debugging process results.

  • Track quality assurance metrics.

  • Experience with cloud architectures and application testing in the cloud is required.

  • Responsible for software quality deliverables.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s and nine (9) years or more experience; Master’s and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizenship and a DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

  • Able to learn, apply, and follow company best practices

  • Able to work independently, raise issues, and take necessary corrective actions

  • Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members

  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language

  • Hands on experience with implementing process improvement frameworks

Target salary range: $135,001 - $145,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
