Google Senior Hardware Validation Engineer, Pixel Watch in San Diego, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience working in consumer electronics, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.

  • Experience in a lab-based environment, prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.

  • Experience in test script development using Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in hardware validation and test, reading schematics, and creating hardware validation test plans.

  • Experience in prototyping, bring-up, debugging, verification, and manufacturing support for electrical systems.

  • Experience using lab instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, data analyzers, probe high speed, and differential signals).

  • Experience with electronics and power fundamentals (e.g., reading schematics, datasheets).

  • Understanding of signal processing, low-noise, and low-power electronics design.

  • Understanding of interfaces (e.g., I2C, USB, SPI, PCIe, MIPI, and related test strategies).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Create, maintain, and drive hardware validation test plans for Fitbit devices.

  • Analyze system architecture and schematics to optimize test plans to ensure full coverage.

  • Collaborate with the design team to drive and finalize specifications.

  • Leverage remote Contract Manufacturers (CM) for test execution and reproduce critical issues in the lab locally by a direct approach.

  • Conduct peer reviews with research, hardware, manufacturing, and other applicable cross-functional teams to present data and provide insight through analysis.
