Scripps Health Psych Liaison - Clinical Partner - Full Time - Qualcomm Health in San Diego, California

This is a full-time benefitted position generally working 8am-5pm Monday-Friday (no weekends).

Located in Sorrento Valley at the Qualcomm Employee Health Centers. Floating between both clinics may be required (free shuttle service).* *

*Your job duties: *

Function as part of a self-directed work team to perform in-depth psychiatric evaluations of patients and organizations throughout Qualcomm.

The Psychiatric Liaison Clinical Partner is a resource regarding differential diagnosis, therapeutic alliance and mandated reporting.

These clinicians provide diagnostic impressions, including differential diagnosis and determining suicidality/homicidality/grave disability, trauma, domestic violence, Stress, anxiety.

Triage and disposition of behavioral health patients, in collaboration with medical staff, to the optimal level of care to assure appropriate utilization of resources and excellent behavioral health care.

Demonstrate decision making skills and knowledge in clinical impression, collaboration, consultation, education, mentorship, and leadership.

Be responsible for identifying and developing approaches to enhance behavioral health care of all persons throughout the system.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

At least 3 years licensed experience in psychiatric assessments in a behavioral health setting and at least one-year experience in a hospital setting.

Content knowledge of California Mental Health Law and understanding of the LPS Act and 24-hour Detention.

Master’s degree in counseling psychology, Masters in Social Work, Masters in Psychology and/or Doctorate in Psychology.

Required Certification/Registration:

Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or Licensed by the Board of Psychology in the state of California.

BLS for Healthcare Provider American Heart Association.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

At least 5 years' experience in the health care setting, including psychiatric assessments and disposition. Proficient in electronic health record, knowledge of differential diagnosis in relation to medical issues.

Unrestricted LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PsyD, PhD, or equivalent license (i.e., able to work independently, without supervision from a licensed supervisor) without current, past, or pending disciplinary action.

Experience and commitment to providing evidence-based treatments (e.g., ACT, CBT, CPT, DBT) and clinical best practices (e.g., measurement-based care, promoting skills practice).

Experience managing risk and responding to clinical crises.

Experience providing video therapy.
