Rady Children's Hospital San Diego Pediatric Health Psychologist - Pain Psychology in San Diego, California

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chronic Pain Program at Rady Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time pediatric pain psychologist to join our expanding and ambitious team. The outpatient Chronic Pain Program, affiliated with our Rehabilitation Medicine division, treats youth with a variety of chronic pain conditions and associated functional disability. (Our team currently consists of one pediatric pain psychologist and one pain medicine physician.)

The successful applicant will share our interest in and commitment to providing excellent family-centered care for children and adolescents struggling with chronic pain and comorbid mental health concerns. Desired clinical skills in pediatric pain management include, experience providing cognitive-behavioral therapy and mind-body interventions to help youth cope with pain and return to functioning. We are excited to recruit a psychologist to become a valued member of our highly motivated and collaborative team.

The Health Psychologist provides direct patient care in various locations within RCHSD. Works collaboratively with treatment teams internal and external partners, and agencies in the development of clinical programming. Works to support the department in the advancement of behavioral health initiatives that aim to improve the health of pediatric populations. When indicated conducts testing, assessments, develops care plans, and implements evidence-based therapies. Psychologist completes documentation per department standards and regulatory guidelines. Participates and leads ongoing initiatives of the department to support the vision and innovation of integrated health care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate Degree (non MD)

2 years of experience

CA Licensed Psychologist

BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3 years of experience

Academic emphasis on assessment of children and child development

The expected hiring range for this position is $45.74 to $62.92
