Mental Health Clinician
San Diego Youth Services seeks a Mental Health Clinician in the Anti-Bias Program to be based at Spring Valley office location. This is a full-time & exempt position reporting to Anti-Bias and HERE Now Program Manager. We provide safe places to live and long-term solutions through shelter, foster homes, community centers and housing to more than 28,000 youth every year at 100+ community and school locations. Through prevention, early intervention and treatment, we also help youth before they need higher levels of care or become homeless.

Help youth develop life skills. In addition to a range of safe and stable housing options, we offer support to help youth develop the independent living skills necessary to become self-sufficient and keep off the streets.
Promote overall health and well-being. Early intervention and care for the whole child are critical. We provide a broad continuum of services to help youth overcome trauma and challenges that put them at risk, including case management, counseling, mental health treatment and educational support and resources.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION OR PROGRAM DESCRIPTION HIRING FOR
Our Anti-BIAS (Anti-Bullying, Intervention and Advocacy Supports) services provide assessment and therapeutic support for youth who are bullied in 7th-12th grade in the Santee School District, Cajon Valley Union School District, Grossmont Union High School District and Helix High School.
CONTEXT OF THE POSITION
Accountable to the Program Manager to provide culturally competent, trauma-informed support for bullying victims, their families, and schools as part of the Anti-Bullying Intervention & Advocacy Supports (Anti-BIAS) component of the Helping, Engaging, Reconnecting and Educating (HERE) Now program. Mental Health Clinicians are responsible for providing case management, counseling, advocacy, referrals, and service coordination for victims of bullying. Additionally responsible for conducting risk assessments, individual intervention services and care coordination with area mental health support and services.
Essential functions include:
Provide culturally competent, trauma-informed support for bullying victims, their families, and school.
Conduct one-on-one safety assessments and crisis management to at-risk students and their families, while utilizing trauma-informed care philosophy and recovery principles in Anti-BIAS and HERE Now capacity.
Provide individual and family therapy to youth who have been identified as a victim of bullying.
Act as an advocate on behalf of youth with administrators and law enforcement, as needed.
Provide one-on-one case management services to youth identified during initial safety assessment as being a victim of bullying and determine the level of support needed by creating a treatment plan.
Connect youth to available supports including mental health services and CalVCB.
Offer support to schools, educators and community collaborators to assist bullying victims as well as educate teachers and administrators on effective adult follow-through in bullying situations.
Responsible in coordination with program manager for the coordination of events, materials and resources for Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, in addition to other awareness months.
PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in counseling (MFT), social work (MSW), psychology.
Must be license-eligible and registered with the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology and in good standing.
Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
Minimum of one year of job-related experience, including direct service experience with at-risk, multiple families and children on a school campus and/or home-based settings.
Experience with child, family, and community development.
Must possess excellent oral and written skills and be able to provide services to small and large groups of children and adults.

Salary Range : $68,000 – 70,000 + up to $1500 annual bilingual differential based on proficiency
