Robert Half Financial Analyst in San Diego, California

Description We are currently searching for a Sr. Financial Analyst in San Diego, California. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity in the finance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for a significant portfolio. They will also be expected to prepare, consolidate, analyze, and document financial data used to summarize and measure status, evaluate business plans, identify variances, and predict results.

Responsibilities:

• Manage planning, forecasting, and comparison of financial activity for a substantial portfolio

• Oversee major financial cycles such as Month End Close, Forecast, 5-year Strategic Financial Plan, and Annual Plan

• Prepare, consolidate, analyze, and document financial data used to summarize and measure status

• Evaluate business plans, identify variances, and predict results

• Work closely with the Director of Finance on major projects and requests

• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other financial tools for data analysis and reporting

• Conduct variance analysis and provide financial notes

• Handle purchase orders, agreements, and specifications with suppliers

• Perform ad-hoc financial tasks as required

• Train team members and improve overall finance decision-making skills. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI

• Experience in training staff on financial procedures and systems

• Strong planning and organizational skills

• Broad understanding of finance principles and practices

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial analyses as required

• Experience in forecasting and financial reporting

• Knowledge of financial notes and purchase orders

• Familiarity with dealing with suppliers and managing month-end close processes

• Ability to develop specifications for financial systems or procedures

• Skilled in variance analysis and agreement negotiations

• Strong decision-making abilities

• Experience in creating and executing business plans

• Proficiency in predictive analysis techniques

• Knowledge of quotation processes

• Understanding of ASP - Active Server Page

• Experience in annual planning processes

• Familiarity with FAA regulations and Statement Of Work development

• Knowledge of HFM financial management software

• Ability to pass a drug test as part of the pre-employment process
