Robert Half Controller in San Diego, California

Description Management Resources seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller for a 2-3 month engagement for our client. This person will be the sole contributor to the accounting and finance department.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations including, Accruals, Prepaids & Fixed Assets

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.

• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.

• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.

• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.

• Support month-end and year-end close processes.

• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Lead and manage the budgeting process, including establishing guidelines and timetables.

• Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.

• Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management for strategic planning and decision-making.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

• Proven working experience as a Controller.

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

• Experience with creating financial statements.

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.

• Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
