Job Title: Pipette Manufacturing and Assembly Technician

Job Description

This employee will be manufacturing and assembling pipettes through a manual assembly process that involves working under a microscope. The role includes loading glass pieces into heat packaging for the microscope. Once focused, the employee will push a pedal to transfer heat to the pipette, shaping and melting its tip. Employees will also be cross-trained in the automated manufacturing department. The work will be split evenly between clean room tasks and warehouse tasks, with inventory control being the primary warehouse responsibility. Daily output and yield requirements will be provided. Progress is important, and employees will be released if they do not continue to improve. The expectation is that the employee is comfortable working under a microscope for extended periods. If not, a different position will be sought for them.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in San Diego, California.

Work Environment

The team will work in a clean room and must follow all gowning procedures, including wearing a hair net, thoroughly washing hands each time they enter, and avoiding excessive makeup, lotion, or perfumes. Employees must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. The position is on the 2nd shift with a pay rate of $18.50/hr, working from 3:30 PM to midnight. The company has around 30 people on the manufacturing team and employs a new linear workflow model. Employees will rotate manufacturing stations, with the first few weeks focusing on mastering each spot.
