Responsibilities

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm.

Shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5, 10.5 or 11-hour shift. HCWs providing up to 10.5 hours of service are entitled to a 30-minute meal break and HCWs providing 11 hours of services are entitled to a 60-minute meal break.

No On Call, Call Back, or Overage Hours.

Job Specific Position Duties: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform a full range of Certified Athletic Trainer duties. All services performed shall fall within those guidelines established by the National Athletic Trainers Association, American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and any additional Service specific guidelines.

• Prevent, recognize, treat (as stated in bullets below) and rehabilitate injuries.

• Provide evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries incurred, including, but not limited to the following: progressive resistance exercise (PRE), open and closed chain kinetic exercises, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), manual therapy and joint mobilization, hydrotherapy, hydrocollator, cryotherapy, ultrasound therapy, phonophoresis, iontophoresis, and all varieties of muscle stimulation.

• Provide treatment for soft tissue damage, acute and chronic edema, post-surgical edema, muscle atrophy, pain, overuse injuries, decreased circulation, and loss of strength due to injury or biomechanical imbalance.

• Provide emergency first aid, evaluation and treatment of injuries, and aid in preliminary diagnosis to include recognition of severity of injury, rendering initial treatment and performing initial examination.

• Design and fabricate protective pads, equipment and braces for the prevention and treatment of injuries including the use of proper taping techniques.

• Maintain a level of fitness sufficient to participate in various Marine Corps physical training activities (conditioning hikes, obstacle courses, calisthenics, etc.). The level of participation in these activities shall be sufficient to appreciate and identify possible causal injury factors in Marine training.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's Degree. Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

* Experience: Two years of experience within the last three years as a Certified Athletic Trainer, 1 year of this experience to include working with collegiate athletes, professional athletes, or military operations personnel.

* Certification: Possess and maintain a current Certification in Athletic Training through the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC).

* Life Support Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for all positions. ACLS for Pulmonary Services; PALS for PICU & NICU Services; Neonatal Resusictation Program (NRP) for NICU Services only.

* Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.

Pay Scale: $32.00/hr - $42.00/hr, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location
