Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

Builds and validates precision Opto-mechanical assemblies in strict accordance with procedure. Uses standardized tools and electric equipment (i.e., torque wrenches, electric and pneumatic screwdrivers, and ball drivers) to perform mechanical assembly on opto-mechanical assemblies. Enters data into company databases. Executes inspections/tests. Interfaces with engineers to support special builds and experiments with detailed instructions. Operates precision cleaning machinery. Prepares completed assemblies for shipment.

Hard Skills

• 4-5 years of recent experience in E/M Assembly

• Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics

• Experience working with hand, power, and measuring tools

• Mechanical/Mechanical Assembly experience

• Basic computer skills

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work under deadlines

• Ability to read and interpret data, information, and documents

• Ability to observe and respond to people and situations

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in SAN DIEGO, California.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on building role at a workstation, not an assembly line. The environment is a cleanroom. The physical demands include sitting, walking, talking, hearing, using hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, and stretching. Occasionally required to move around the campus and lift/move up to 20 pounds. May require travel dependent on business needs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The environment is generally moderate in temperature and noise level.
