Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$50.611 - $65.305 - $79.999

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

The Sr. Programmer role within IT utilizes toolkits, utilities, and programs, to support, enhance, and maintain vendor supplied applications. This role is responsible for application programming, consulting with users and stakeholders to determine software, business, and system functional specifications. The Sr. Programmer analyzes complex requirements, designs, builds, and evaluates existing or proposed solutions, prepares specifications and diagrams, and logic flowcharts. Programs, tests, documents and implements complex scripts, reports, interfaces, applications, data fed dashboards, and utility jobs. Brings competency to programming duties required to support Sharp's environment in a highly available manner. Promotes the effective and efficient use of programming resources and facilitates client workflows. Will manage IT project initiatives, provide planning activities, and act as a mentor to peers. Exercises discretion with independent thought and judgment. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience with WorkDay is strongly preferred for this role.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 Years experience in a health system preferred, or related subject matter experience.

  • Must have strong leadership skills and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 Years in a Programmer Analyst role.

  • Project Management experience.

Other Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, information systems, or related field or appropriate certifications may be substituted. Relevant experience in excess of five (5) years. - Required

  • Professional Certifications (2 preferred): Certifications that portray advanced level of proficiency relevant to the job responsibilities. Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of clinical and business operations in a healthcare environment.

  • Knowledge of hospital and clinic culture, regulatory requirements (e.g., JCAHO), and health care requirements as it relates to information security and privacy (e.g., HIPAA).

  • Proficiency in the applications supported by the department, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Project Web App.

  • Proficiency in programming languages required for the position.

  • Must be able to calmly and professionally respond to frequent deadlines for reports and related tasks, and to prepare work and presentations on short notice.

  • Use telephone frequently; must be able to hear and speak clearly by telephone.
