WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Director/Local Business Line Lead for our San Antonio, TX office. The candidate will play a key strategic leadership role in Texas as we continue to strengthen and expand our Transportation practice. WSP is playing a critical role in the growth and development of Central Texas, specifically with key public agencies, Texas Department of Transportation, Alamo Area MPO, VIA, Bexar County, City of San Antonio, City of New Braunfels and others. This role also is a leader in leveraging cross collaboration with Property and Buildings, Energy, Water, Federal, Advisory Services, and PMCM to bring value to our clients.

Operational Excellence

• Optimizes the client and employee experience through regular review and implements process improvements and automation

• Focuses on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality and sustainable standards

• Develops local growth, forecast and business development strategy in collaboration with Local, Regional and National Business Line Leaders

• Resolves conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP’s client base, or on projects

• Collaborate with regional, district leaders and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, manage project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and meet operational financial metrics

• Manages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with Region, District, National Business Lines, and Pursuit Management

• Advances the strategic direction of the district and region in the location of responsibility for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan

• Key performance indicators include: EBITDA, Organic Growth, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity and Guiding Principles

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Transportation or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a strong focus in transportation

• Professional Engineer (P.E) license in the state of Texas

• Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal oriented

• Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement

• Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes

• Sound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practice

• Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local area

• Commitment to internal and external client service

• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
