Description:

Systems Administrator with expertise in Azure, firewalls, VPNs, networking, and basic server management. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and the ability to assist users who may not be tech-savvy. This role is crucial in addressing our current infrastructure challenges and supporting our transition to a cloud-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

-Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage a mix of in-house and Azure-based networking and security infrastructure, including Azure firewalls and third-party security solutions.

-Virtual Desktop Rollout: Address and resolve issues related to the rollout of virtual desktops for users, providing recommendations on appropriate hardware and software.

-Server Management: Handle basic server management tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our 15-20 servers across three locations.

-Networking: Tackle various networking issues, which constitute 40-50% of the role, ensuring reliable and secure network performance.

-User Support: Provide user support and help desk services, assisting approximately 100-300 mostly remote users with their technical needs.

-Research and Recommendations: Research and recommend the best options for hardware and software to improve our current infrastructure, which has been in place for 15-20 years.

-Collaboration: Work closely with the current network and systems infrastructure employee to ensure a smooth transition and knowledge transfer.

Desired Qualifications:

-Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.

-Expertise in Azure, firewalls, VPNs, networking, and basic server management.

-Familiarity with both on-premises and cloud-based technologies.

-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research and recommend solutions.

-Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

-Ability to assist users who may not be tech-savvy.

-Experience in a smaller to medium-sized environment is a plus.

-Desire to learn and ability to figure out Azure firewalls, even without direct experience.

-Good route switch and server experience, with the ability to learn Azure firewall aspects.
