The Nurse Educator Assistant works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Nurse Educator Assistant works under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Educator and is responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of the Nursing Education Program at the State Supported Living Centers. He/she assists in evaluation and testing of competency skills and knowledge of all new and incumbent nursing staff. This position will assist with orientation of newly hired nurses and will assist in the orientation of student nurses. Promotes and initiates professional, legal, and ethical nursing practice at the state supported living center. This position assists the Nurse Educator in coordinating systems to ensure nursing education/competency is provided for all nurses.
