Position:

SAS has an opening for a Handbag and Accessories Patternmaker

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with Design to receive and review tech packs for prototyping, and to build tickets for bags to be run in the sample room, technical line and factories.

  • Build patterns for new prototypes; modify patterns in accordance with any design changes, technical and manufacturing requirements and promoting best practices.

  • Commercialize bags and patterns in line with shoe commercialization process.

  • Working with Design and Sourcing to gather materials and components to run bags in the sample room, factory and technical lines.

  • Push and pull of prototypes and trials – ensure the development keeps moving with design, technical and manufacturing.

  • Co-ordinating the lifecycle of trial bags from D&D area to DC.

  • Co-ordinating the signed samples.

  • Working with technical team to keep dev/comm team notes up to date.

  • Assisting the head of Development and the Development team throughout the critical path and hitting all seasonal milestone.

  • Working with the Design, Development, Technical and Manufacturing Team’s to ensure a smooth handover of technical specs and information, and ensure all are kept up to date.

  • Build picture books for new styles

  • Order dies for new styles

  • Work with HOD and Process Engineer to build SOP and processes for handbags and accessories.

  • Assist the sample team with running shoes and accessories through the sample line.

Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high-stress, deadline driven environment.

  • Must be self- motivated and willing to work on whatever project is assigned.

  • Must be willing to change priorities when the need arises.

  • Must be a team player and work well will with others

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical labor is often necessary for 8 hours or more per day with breaks approximately every two hours including sitting, standing and walking.

  • The maximum weight limit is 30 lbs.

Education & Experience Requirements: Education and Experience

  • University Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Design or similar.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,

  • 2D and 3D CAD software experience is a plus. (Adobe, Rhino, Romans CAD etc.)

  • Experience in handbag making/shoemaking/manufacturing or general manufacturing in production facilities is a plus.
