Aircraft Mechanic - San Antonio, TX

Job Description

Perform maintenance operations and modifications on F/A-18E and F/A-18F model aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier and other directives in support of aircraft modification. Perform other Airframe & Powerplant repairs. May include Fuel Cell work as well.

Hard Skills

• Able to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures

• Able to setup and use pneumatic tools such as screw guns

• Able to setup and use a torque wrench

• Able to use common hand tools

• Able to remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation and sealing compounds

• Familiar with 'large' aircraft and components such as airframe and power-plant

• Able to remove, replace, check out aircraft components and assemblies

• Able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts request

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 1 Year(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in San Antonio, Texas.

Work Environment

• Military Hangar 1st Shift: M-F 5:30am-2:30pm, 2nd Shift: M-F 2pm-10:30pm

• Must be open to work any shift Open-bay (non-climate controlled) environment

• Will be able to expense $100 per year for Steel Toed Shoes.
