Stadler US Inc. seeks Painter II (multiple positions) in Salt Lake City, UT.

1. Prepare surface for painting processes while following ISO/FDIS 9466 standard to ensure highest quality results.

2. Apply finishes to small parts, bonded structures, and train car bodies.

3. Prepare surfaces for new paint application using manual and power sanding tools mix paint to match manufacture's specifications.

4. Read and interpret engineering drawings to apply paints and primers using calibrated spray guns.

5. Working understanding of paint chemistry, ratios, proper mixing and environment conditions for carbody paint application.

6. Perform spot repairs and rework on multiple substrates with multiple textures using Delta E, spectrometer and orange peel gauge

7. Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.

8. Perform proper upkeep, rebuild and preventative maintenance of paint equipment including sprayers, pumps, compressors and paint booth climatization equipment.

9. Utilize micrometer, depth gauge, and scratch test plates and paint travelers to determine critical thickness and adhesion.

    

Requires a high school diploma, or related, plus 2 years of related experience. Requires 2 year of experience with each of the following:

1) preparing various service and material types for application of paint.

2) mixing, measuring, and weighing paint to meet manufacturer specifications.

3) utilizing power tools and hand tools to apply paint to meet manufacturer and customer specifications.

4) painting large surface area to meet manufacturer specifications.

5) making spot repairs and fixes.

6) adhering to proper safety protocols when utilizing paints, solvents, and hand tools.
