R.C. HUNT ELECTRIC, INC. Industrial Journeyman Electrician in SALT LAKE CTY, Utah

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for full-time Journeyman Industrial Electrician to join our team within the Industrial Division. The Journeyman Industrial Electrician must have a current and active Journeyman Electrician License issued from the State of Utah. A valid reciprocal state journeyman license will be considered as proof of experience, but a Utah journeyman license must be obtained within 30 days of employment. electrical construction experience is required. Candidates must have a working knowledge of journeyman level math and be proficient in reading, and writing.

Major Duties:

  • Plan/Install new or modified electrical installations in manufacturing, wastewater, and mining facilities, including installation of Motor Control Centers, pumps, conveyors, controls, instrumentation, and main distribution electrical systems.
  • Installations must be consistent with specifications and local building and electrical codes. Have the ability to follow diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Using proper electrical tools, the candidate must be proficient in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembly, and electrical raceways.
  • Perform various electrical testing such as meggering, hi-pot, grounding, continuity, amperage, ohm, and voltage measurements of electrical circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
  • Perform troubleshooting procedures by observing the functionality of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Perform "lock out-tag out" procedures enabling the ability to safely repair faulty electrical equipment or systems.

     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Utah Journeyman's License
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and its
  • Knowledge of safety procedures associated with electrical
  • Knowledge of general industry safety
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local electrical
  • Knowledge of electrical construction and maintenance practices and

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, such as indoor and outdoor lighting systems and timing
  • Knowledge of MHSA & OHSA Standards.
  • Knowledge of the installation of cable tray systems, tray cable installation, heat trace, rigid conduit bending and threading, motor control centers and instrumentation.
  • Skill in planning, designing, organizing, and executing electrical upgrade projects mandated by changing codes, regulations, and safety
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems, devise, and carry out effective plans for repairing problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical information, listen to instructions and ask questions, as necessary.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and install control circuits and compute electrical
  • Ability to read, to understand, and to interpret electrical plans, complex circuit schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to perform assigned work independently with minimal
  • Ability to climb ladders, sufficient mobility to perform duties in small spaces by crouching, stooping, or kneeling and physical ability to perform tasks requiring strength and finger

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm, and Friday, 7:00 am - 2:00 pm.
