R.C. HUNT ELECTRIC, INC. Electrical Purchasing Specialist in SALT LAKE CTY, Utah

Hunt Electric, Inc, a well-diversified electrical contractor is looking to add a Electrical Purchasing Agent with a passion for procuring materials at the best value to help support company growth. The ideal candidate will have electrical construction or electrical wholesale experience or both.  This work is in a fast-paced environment and requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to provide real solutions that exceed customer and vendor expectations through dependability, integrity, and resourcefulness.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the procurement of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies; negotiating/coordinating purchasing and shipping schedules with vendors; and working with Project Managers for pricing and lead times of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies.

 

Purchasing Agent Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationship with key vendors.
  • Work directly with Project Managers for bid/job pricing of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies.
  • Effectively understand and communicate with the field personnel materials or services required and their procurement time frame.
  • Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services.
  • Create, review, and submit purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate shipping schedule with vendors
  • Manage incoming material/inventory and follow up with suppliers on delivery requirements.

     

Major Duties:

  • Developing and implementing purchasing strategies for Hunt Electric.
  • Work with various divisions in assisting to provide strategic sourcing expertise. 
  • Define, evaluate, and implement purchasing processes and procedures that lead to greater efficiencies and cost savings for the company.
  • Provide research and comparison data for suppliers, vendors, goods, and services.
  • Provide recommendations for most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product, quality of service, and cost-efficiency.
  • Coordinating inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
  • Strategically evaluate and implement ways that improve the purchasing system and processes.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager

     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role.

``` - Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials. - 3-5 Years Purchasing experience in the electrical construction industry. - College Degree or Journeyman license preferred. - Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent or similar role. - Working knowledge of supply chain management. - Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors). - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including negotiation experience. - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary. - Hands-on experience with purchasing software. - Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others. - Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player. - Extensive experience with Microsoft suite -- Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook

This full-ti me position receives a competitive salary commensurate with experience and position responsibilities. WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am - 2:00pm.
