Job Summary

The Sustainability Office seeks student interns to help promote sustainability at the University of Utah. We define sustainability as the integrated pursuit of social equity,

environmental integrity, and economic security for current and future generations. The Sustainability Office’s mission is to empower students, employees, and the broader community through education, engagement, and collaborative action to build a sustainable future. We engage the campus community through programs that fund innovation, expand knowledge and understanding, and inspire change locally and globally.

Responsibilities

  • Follow social media guidelines established by the University of Utah and the Sustainability Office;

  • Promote current Sustainability Office projects, programs, and events;

  • Design campaigns to educate and engage the campus community, complete with social media and poster graphics;

  • Create content, including videos, photos, graphics and stories, for the Sustainability Office social media and the sustainability website

  • Work with the student sustainability leaders on campus to help promote the services provided by the Sustainability Office;

  • Attend Sustainability Office Events to capture photo and video for future use;

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current University of Utah Student

Preferences

Must be a University of Utah full-time student. Internships are open to all majors. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and research abilities. Experiences with online content development, video editing, article writing and social media management for an organization/student group preferred but not required.

Preferred start date between June 1 and August 1, 2024.
