Job Summary

The McCluskey Center for Violence Prevention at the University of Utah engages in research and education on sexual violence among college students, particularly as it affects students from historically minoritized backgrounds, including students of color, queer and trans students, and students with disabilities. The Center seeks to bridge the gap between research and education by bringing together researchers, prevention educators, and students to focus on scholarship and best practices for understanding, intervening in, and preventing sexual violence.

When you hear sexual violence prevention, what do you think of? Maybe something like pepper spray, talking about consent, improving lighting, or the training you had to take to register for classes. At the MCVP , we change up this approach to ending sexual violence by engaging in primary prevention – stopping harm before it starts by engaging in projects related to people who have the potential to cause harm, aka, all of us! No experience in relationship and sexual violence-related work is required or expected, just a willingness to grow, learn, be uncomfortable, and engage with issues of power, oppression, and privilege with an open mind. If you are passionate about ending sexual violence on college campuses through creative approaches that engage your interests, abilities, and the communities you care the most about, consider applying to join our team.
