Job Summary

Assist with accounting, administration, and compliance for a Large Federal Project to include Operations and the estimated 40+ Individual R&D awards.

A successful candidate will be organized, prepared, detailed, accurate, timely, take initiative, and be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to switch quickly between tasks.

Responsibilities

  1. GAAP Accounting, as well as compliance and tracking financial budgets and related contracts, bids for Operations and R&D tracking.

  2. General accounting review for federal compliance, monthly, quarterly and annual financial documentation for accuracy.

  3. Process contracts, invoices, purchase orders, purchase requests, direct deposits, insurance, payroll, general office support, etc.

  4. Assist with 40+ R&D awards monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to include compliance review and preparation of reports and presentations, re-budget request processing, and communication with team members.

  5. Assist upper Management team with updates on R&D awards’ financial and administrative status. Be able to answer related questions.

  6. Follow shared box/email protocols.

  7. Understand and maintain various tracking spreadsheets with accuracy.

  8. Other accounting and administrative duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus two years professional accounting experience. Also required are a thorough knowledge of established accounting principles and practices, knowledge of accounting software, advanced spreadsheet skills, the ability to write queries and macros and demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills.

Certifications as a Certified Public Accountant may be preferred for certain positions.

Preferences

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & five years of accounting experience.

Exceptional Computer, EXCEL , WORD , and OUTLOOK skills.

Plus:

Federal Project management, compliance & regulation experience.

PeopleSoft & InfoReady experience.

Ability to learn and use new software.
