Job Summary

The Software Quality Analyst, II is responsible for performing manual testing of applications and applying appropriate testing methods in order to ensure production release readiness.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Define test cases

  • Perform appropriate tests including black box, integration, negative, regression, etc.

  • Document test results and escalate issues appropriately, create defects for test failures.

  • Work closely with the development team to communicate and demonstrate defects.

  • Work closely with QA Automation Engineers to incorporate manual tests into automation suites.

  • Partner with Business Analysts on acceptance criteria and sizing efforts

  • Participate in defect triage efforts

  • Contribute to deployment readiness discussions

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of QA best practices and appropriate use of test methods.

  • Proven ability to quickly understand complex and nuanced business processes and rules

  • Use of defect tracking systems.

  • Testing within an Agile environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic knowledge level of SQL to assist with testing efforts

  • Use of Selenium or other automation tools is a bonus

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s + 4 years of directly related work experience; OR

  • Master’s + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Assumes work equivalency (1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience).
