As a member of the HCI Research Informatics team, the Software Design Engineer Jr. is expected to design and develop applications for research. The Research Informatics team is responsible for managing software applications built both in-house and purchased commercial off the shelf (COTS) in the support of various groups at HCI. Research Informatics team members work closely with laboratory scientists, clinical researchers and population scientists on requirements, design, project management, testing and implementation to provide systems solutions and coordinate overall delivery of software applications.Because of the high-demand for software solutions from Research Informatics, and the complexity involved in some of the cancer research initiatives, the selected candidate will be expected to either create interfaces with COTS products, or will be working with a team to create in-house software solutions following the RISR standards and framework/architecture.
