R1 RCM Senior Applied Data Scientist in Salt Lake City, Utah

As our Senior Data Scientist, you will help build predictive models and analytical solutions for business end users to help them make more efficient decisions in their day-to-day work. Every day you will, collaborate with development teams to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured data for discovery and mining from multiple disparate resources. To thrive in this role, you must have strong critical thinking capabilities with a background in solving solutions with healthcare claims data.

Here’s what you will experience working as a Senior Applied Data Scientist:

  • Collaborate with development teams to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured data for data discovery and mining from multiple disparate resources.

  • Builds high-end analytic models, utilizing supervised and unsupervised learning models, to support decision makers with data driven insights that address immediate business problems and objectives.

  • Creates informative visualizations that intuitively display large amounts of data and/or complex relationships, translating data analytics into coherent reports and presentations for internal and external customer with varying degrees of technical knowledge.

  • Utilizes machine learning, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, and/or advanced statistics to deliver projects.

  • Prototypes solutions using varied resources, including both commercial and open-source software

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working in healthcare.

  • 6+ years of experience utilizing machine learning models.

  • History of delivering data science projects including data discovery, modeling, and application integration.

  • Experience leading data science projects, including resource allocation, project estimation and mentoring other staff members.

  • Can facilitate converting business needs into technical projects.

  • Experience using R and Python to program machine learning models.

  • Experience using SQL to extract data from databases.

  • Knowledge of deploying models and reports into cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, etc.).

  • Ability to visualize data and model results utilizing a modern BI tool (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.).

  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning modeling techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, and NLP) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present results to teams of people, including executive stakeholders.

  • Can work independently to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

  • Strong mentoring capabilities.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $63,140.06 - $143,517.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
