Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently looking for a Scheduler to join our growing team. In this role you will manage and support the program and project teams with producing and reporting cost loaded schedules in Primavera P6 format, for the purpose of coordinating works/ interfaces with multiple contractors and other third parties working on the Program. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the Program Master Schedule to support the team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. In addition, the scheduler will also review the planning processes from end to end, looking at the look ahead schedules and coming up with a more advanced and proactive solutions. This role will primarily be based out of the client office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the Program Master Schedule in Primavera P6 in coordination with program team.

  • Taking the lead in developing fully integrated Baseline in accordance with the program requirements. Ensure project schedule activities are coded by the program work breakdown structure for cost / schedule integration and analysis.

  • Maintaining the program master schedule with collaboration from project managers/construction managers and inputs from engineering, procurement, contractors, and operations.

  • Provide the technical support to all contractors to ensure that the project schedule is maintained to program team’s satisfaction. Validate construction methodologies, resource and cost loading, activity durations, schedule logic, float allocation and critical path identification.

  • Analyze schedules to ensure contractor's schedules captures contract milestones, predict completion dates, and provide an accurate record of the project 's progress from start to final acceptance.

  • Prepare reports for program team and management regarding project scheduling activities. Correlate schedule, cost and risk assessments through integrated solutions to influence critical path analysis to provide robust/quality plans for decision making.

  • Provide recommendations for corrective action due to delays in certain aspects of the program.

  • Maintaining liaison with program team regarding scheduling activities and assisting them in determining schedule priorities.

  • Define and optimize critical paths, perform total float analysis, and periodically report project management status of critical activities and schedule risks.

  • Conduct recovery plans, contingency planning, and schedule compression techniques.

  • Support monitoring of contract actual progress versus planned progress and key performance indicators, provide exception reporting, and recommend actions.

  • Produce consolidated progress reports with bar charts, S-curves, manpower histograms.

  • Provide support on development of program cost expenditure forecast curves (cash flow).

  • Perform schedule risk analysis (gather data, input data, analyze, report) on a periodic basis or as required.

  • Control and monitor any variations or changes to the program scope of work.

  • Performing schedule analysis for contractor requests for adjustments and claims to determine impact on schedule.

  • Ensuring that all program reports, internally and externally are completed on time and that the reports are accurate and consistent.

  • Attending program team and subcontractors’ meetings.

Qualifications

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Construction project planning expertise gained across a range of large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects, with a sound understanding of program management principles and application.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Proactive detailed oriented and have a good knowledge of scheduling techniques.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with Client, program team, contractor, subcontractors, and staff at all levels.

  • Advanced skills with Primavera P6.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a similar position.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project Management Institute – Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) is highly desired.
