Job Summary
We are seeking a research assistant to work with an investigator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute on health communication studies. These studies include examining digital health approaches to providing cancer genetic services and investigating the effect of behavioral nudges on recruitment into clinical trials. This position will assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative study data.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in public health, communication, psychology, or a related field with at least one year of research experience. The applicant should have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be detail oriented with strong organizational skills. She or he should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Responsibilities
The duties of the position will include:
Recruitment of study participants
Assisting with IRB submissions
Creating data collection instruments
Collecting data through methods such as interviews and surveys
Entering data
Coding qualitative interview data
Analyzing quantitative data
Maintaining files and records of research data
Assisting with the preparation and submission of scientific papers and presentations
Assisting the investigator with other tasks as needed.
