Job Summary

TheJohn and Marcia Price College of Engineeringat theUniversity of Utahseeks a motivated and enthusiastic person that can be part of the team for outreach and recruiting. As a valued team member, the Outreach Program Coordinator will play a key role in developing and coordinating programs focused on high school recruiting and outreach. The Outreach Program Coordinator responsibilities will primarily involve attracting new students and fostering partnerships and collaborations between the John and Marcia Price College of Engineering and high school counselors and teachers. We are looking for a candidate who excels in dynamic environments and is eager to contribute to our mission.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Outreach Program Coordinator will involve scheduling and overseeingDiscover Engineering, an initiative that involves booking the exhibit in a different high school every week throughout the school year. Additionally, the Outreach Program Coordinator will spend two days per week at high schools, actively promoting our engineering majors to prospective students. The Outreach Program Coordinator will also design and implement other outreach programs aimed at recruiting undergraduate students.

  1. Support recruiting events for prospective students focusing onDiscover Engineeringtraveling exhibit. Some overnight travel required (up to 6 nights a year).

  2. Make connections with high school teachers to further the mission of the Price College of Engineering, coordinate with high schools to increase participation in Discover Engineering.

  3. Work with Outreach Team to create opportunities for faculty and current engineering students to present to high school math and science classes.

  4. Plan and execute John and Marcia Price College of EngineeringSummer CampsandHigh School Summer Research Internship Program

  5. Planning and executing recruitment events, such asEngineering Day, information sessions, and college fairs.

  6. Collaborate with admissions and marketing teams to develop targeted recruitment campaigns.

  7. Create engaging outreach material to promote our programs and opportunities to prospective students.

  8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience. (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience.)

Preferences

Applicants must have experience working with students and be committed to helping in their success. Prior experience working in University Admissions/Recruiting and/or experience working in High School education of students. Math, Science or Engineering background helpful but not required. Ability to lift 50lbs. Current Utah Driver’s License required.
