    JOB SUMMARY

    Oversees the activities of the Salt Lake-Summit-Tooele (SST) Hospital Regionalization Program. Develops emergency preparedness plans that include the coordination of healthcare organizations within the region, coordination with adjacent healthcare preparedness regions, and the Utah Department of Health. Integrates emergency plans for counties within the region.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Community or Public Health, Public or Health Administration, Nursing, Emergency Management, or other closely related field, plus four (4) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

    A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah may be required to operate a vehicle.

    It is mandatory that all new hires receive the Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis) vaccine before beginning employment or provide a copy of their immunization record prior to starting employment. The immunization record must show the vaccine name and date received.

    Upon hire, a two-step Tuberculosis skin test will be required. The first will need to be placed prior to starting employment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists with planning, budgeting, organizing, coordinating, and implementing activities of the Salt Lake-Summit-Tooele (SST) Hospital Regionalization Program for the Salt Lake County Health Department (SLCoHD).

  • Manages the administration of the Hospital Regionalization Program: organizing, health outreach, planning, resource development, community interaction, partnerships, and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).

  • Works with elected officials and community, business, and industry leaders to garner support for the healthcare objectives and goals of the Region.

  • Coordinates a National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliant Regional Plan in conjunction with the SST and community partners and agencies.

  • Establishes and facilitates the SST to involve hospitals, other healthcare organizations, entities, communities, boards, councils, and task forces to improve the ability of the SST healthcare organizations to deliver quality medical care during emergencies or disasters.

  • Represents the SLCoHD and the SST in seeking resources and community support to sustain regional goals and objectives.

  • Analyzes and interprets information and data. Provides instructive information to other health departments. Provides assessments of needs and recommendations for the SST to improve health care within the Hospital Region.

  • Arranges and conducts regular meetings, conferences, work groups, training, and exercises with SST and community partners.

Additional Information

This position works a 40 hours work week with general work hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This position represents the Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele Healthcare Coaltion and may require travel to these counties. Experience working with a Board of Directors is a plus.
