SummaryThe Industrial X-ray Tube Engineering group at Varex Imaging produces X-Ray imaging tubes for the industrial, security and non-destructive inspection industries. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic summer intern to help our Industrial Engineering team improve the consistency of our products. Work will involve developing tools and inspection criteria for key vacuum components during the X-ray tube build process. This will include working with other departments and testing the outputs of the process. Engineering staff will be available to train and mentor this individual.

Job Description

You will work closely with an Engineering team mentor and collaborate with the Engineering team in general.

• Learn key requirements for successful X-Ray tube operation

• Define component inspection criteria by creating visual and physical standards to ensure consistency

• Capture images and quantify quality of key vacuum components

• Develop and audit tooling to minimize risk of damage to components during processing, including 3D models and drawings

• Test and validate tooling and inspection criteria to ensure process integrity

• Report weekly to the team on progress

   

Skills - What you will bring:

• Ability to learn quickly and develop good working relationships with others

• Experience taking detailed data and analyzing the data using statistical methods

• Ability to organize and structure data and information neatly and consistently

• Experience with 3D modeling and detailed drawings in Solidworks

• Ability to create user-friendly documentation in PowerPoint

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

• Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

• Completed 2nd year of college
