Legal Secretary - Litigation
The Litigation Division of the Utah Attorney General s Office seeks a motivated,meticulous,and collaborative candidate to support attorneys and other staff as a Legal Secretary,receptionist,and records officer. The Division defends Utah state government agents and agencies,school districts,and colleges and universities in lawsuits for money damages. The applicant would be the primary receptionist for the Division. The applicant would also be responsible for ensuring quality control of the Division s electronic legal document and task management system (Legal Files) that includes entering,classifying,indexing,converting,and maintaining active and inactive records. The applicant would also be the primary point of contact for archiving. Additionally,the applicant would support attorneys and staff practicing in the areas of tort,employment and civil rights litigation. Legal Secretaries in the Division are critical parts of the litigation team. They perform a variety of legal secretarial and administrative duties such as preparing,formatting,proofing,and filing legal documents in federal courts,state courts,and administrative tribunals; scheduling trial calendars; collecting and organizing data and exhibits in connection with litigation; and providing other related support.
This position may be underfilled as a Legal Secretary Trainee.
This position is an in-office position with the potential for 1-2 days per week telework.
