At the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the University of Utah, the Preclinical Research Resource (PRR) offers top-quality services for both basic and translational cancer research. With a mission centered around cancer translational research, the PRR is dedicated to facilitating the use of the most advanced in vivo cancer models for preclinical drug development and identifying relevant biomarkers for treatment selection and evaluation.The PRR aims to develop strategies for predictive preclinical research to enable their routine application in clinical research, resulting in optimal outcomes in the management of various cancers. To achieve its mission, the PRR engages in internal projects focused on applied preclinical model development and collaborations focused on therapeutics and biomarker development.Leveraging our resources and expertise, the PRR offers clinicians and researchers access to a range of in vivo cancer models, including patient-derived xenografts (PDX), genetically engineered mouse models (GEMM), and cell-line xenografts. We provide the expertise and reagents needed to perform a wide variety of experiments related to tumor biology, including viable patient sample collection, PDX and cell line banks, immunocompromised mouse colonies, ABSL2 animal housing, as well as extensive surgical and dosing experience.We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biology Lab Technician with expertise in mouse husbandry and xenografting.
