AMERICAN CYBER SYSTEMS INC IT Sales Engineer (Southeast) in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
Position Summary
The Sales Engineer (SE) provides technical sales leadership for Class II medical device infusion therapy solutions, focusing on safety software and infusion devices (pumps). In collaboration with a district sales team, the SE drives technical engagement with customers, leading product demonstrations, technical evaluations, and proofs of concept to ensure successful solution adoption.
This role requires deep expertise in healthcare IT, medical device integration, and network security, particularly in electronic medical records (EMRs), WAN/LAN connectivity, cybersecurity, and relational database management. The SE serves as a trusted technical advisor, working closely with ICU Medical's Device Sales Specialists, Clinical Sales Consultants, and other stakeholders to deliver value-driven solutions that align with customer needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the technical sales process, providing expertise to customer technical teams and conducting high-impact product demonstrations of ICU Medical's connected IV systems and IV-EMR integration.
- Engage with hospital IT and clinical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into compelling business value propositions.
- Act as a primary technical resource, responding to customer technical questions and improving the sales team's technical knowledge through ongoing training and mentorship.
- Support global sales teams (OUS) by assisting with product placements, RFP/Tender responses, and potential overseas engagements when necessary.
- Develop and execute technical proof-of-concept engagements, ensuring seamless integration and performance in hospital environments.
- Collaborate with Contract Marketing to develop RFP responses related to hospital networks, security, connectivity, and integration.
- Stay ahead of market trends by maintaining expert knowledge of ICU Medical's product portfolio and key competitor offerings to effectively communicate product differentiation.
- Gather customer and market insights, providing valuable feedback to global marketing and product teams to drive future product enhancements and innovations.
- Support ICU Medical's presence at trade shows and industry events, leading technical presentations and engaging potential customers.
- Ensure compliance with ICU Medical's quality and regulatory standards, upholding the highest levels of professionalism and adherence to credentialing requirements.
Knowledge & Skills
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of network security, hospital IT infrastructure, wireless networks, and medical device integration.
- Customer Engagement: Ability to engage with clinical and IT decision-makers, effectively communicating the value of ICU Medical's solutions.
- Presentation & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, diagnose, and solve technical challenges.
- Self-Motivation & Leadership: Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and lead cross-functional teams in a complex matrix environment.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required
- Experience:
- 5 years of enterprise IT/Networking experience required
- 3-5 years of Sales Engineering experience preferred
- Sales experience, including demonstration of technical healthcare-related products, preferred
- Extensive knowledge and experience with IT systems (e.g., wireless networks, client/server applications)
- Experience working with medical device interoperability with EHR vendors (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) preferred
- Knowledge of clinical IV infusion therapy workflows and hos ital roles preferred
- Experience in healthcare IT implementation support (project management and technical) preferred
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, MS Project, and Visio preferred
- Compliance: Must meet all credentialing require ments, including COVID-19 / Flu / etc. vaccination, to perform essential functions at customer locations.
Work Environment
- Field-Based Role: Work may be performed in a home office using standard office equipment and on-site at customer locations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, depending on customer needs.
- Travel: Requires more than 50% travel; must hold a valid driver's license and comply with company driving policies. International travel may be required.
- Lifting: Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
