The Utah State Tax Commission's Financial Operations Division is looking for a motivated individual who can work both independently and with teams to fill the Payment Research Technician II position. This person will play an integral role in the Division's mission to provide quality service to both taxpayers and our colleagues. *You must be current on your state and federal tax filings and pass a FBI level background check. *
Principle Duties As a Payment Research Technician,you will:
- research,prepare and process payment vouchers,returns and correspondence
- prepare and process a variety of accounting documents and transactions
- maintain accounts; add and update
- contact taxpayers for information
- payment research and other related payment tasks
- support other staff members
- review documents for completeness and accuracy
- make adjustments to documents and accounts
- prepare reports
- create files

- have attention to detail and accuracy
- experience maintaining and verifying accounts receivable information
- experience handling money
- excellent customer service skills
- 10-key skills
Salary Non-state employees are hired for this position only at $15.13 an hour. We are unable to negotiate hourly wage amounts. DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers for current state employees. - Health Insurance - Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):

- Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
- Employees hired on or after than 7/1/2011 and have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after f our years.
- Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in Tier I Public Employees System.
- Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
- Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.
- Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in Tier I Public Employees System.
- Paid Time Off:
- Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual,4 hours sick).
- Annual leave increases with years of service.
- There are also 12 paid holidays.
