University of Utah Clinical Research Coordinator in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Who we are:The Center for Health Outcomes and Population Equity (HOPE) at the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute, is seeking applicants for a Clinical Research Coordinator.The Center for HOPE conducts community-engaged clinical, population, and implementation science research that focuses on health inequities, behavioral risk factors, cancer and chronic disease, infectious disease, screening, and vaccination and uses biomedical informatics and mobile health technologies for both assessment and intervention. Special populations of interest include Latinx, American Indian/Alaska Native, African American, LGBTQ+, low socioeconomic status, and rural/frontier. Center for HOPE team members contribute to multiple National Institute of Health (NIH), Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded intervention, mechanism, and dissemination/implementation studies. Intervention studies include tobacco cessation treatment, human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination, COVID-19 vaccination and testing, and other screening and health risk behaviors, primarily among patients who receive medical care from community health centers. Treatment approaches being investigated by our team include health information technology at the point of care, smartphone apps, motivational enhancement therapies, and healthcare system changes. Innovative assessment approaches include on-body human sensing technologies, ecological momentary assessments, and GPS/GIS. Study designs include Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trials (SMART), Micro-Randomized Trials (MRT), and longitudinal cohorts.Ongoing studies include: Newly awarded National Cancer Institute (NCI) funded Persistent Poverty Center to address equitable implementation of evidence-based practices for addressing adverse social determinants of health and cancer prevention among people living in persistent poverty PCORI funded pragmatic, multi-level, randomized controlled trial to address tobacco use among 12,000 patients seen at Community Health Centers (CHCs) mHealth/digital health studies utilizing micro-randomized trials to optimize just-in-time adaptive interventionsThe Center for HOPE provides vibrant opportunities in community-engaged research. The successful candidate will join an established research team with a large portfolio of federally funded intervention, mechanism, and dissemination/implementation studies. The Clinical Research Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and working with Programs Managers in the organization, implementation, and management of all aspects of the Center for HOPE research projects.
