Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage intake and investigation of claims for Property and Casualty (e.g., general liability, auto, and property) promptly and effectively, communicating with insurance companies and third- party adjusters within delegated authority

• Recognize cases, based on severity/complexity protocols, that should be transferred to another level and referred on a timely basis

• Collaborate and develop partnerships with internal and external points of contact including customers, vendors, suppliers to provide a quality claims experience

• Handle non-litigated GL claims of low to moderate exposure and complexity such as slip/trip and falls, product liability, and other third-party injuries resulting from premises liability exposures

• Convey moderately complex information (coverage, decisions, outcomes, etc.) to all appropriate parties

• Manage claims administrator reserve and settlement recommendations within authority level

• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications: Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred

Qualifications: Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in property and casualty claims handling

• Experience with Microsoft Office & Excel

• The following certifications (e.g. CISR, CIC, CRM, ARM, CPCU, CSP) a plus

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong listening skills

• Practice operating independently without the need for continuous oversight or direction

• Proven ability to effectively prioritize and balance competing needs

• The ability to get people to change attitudes, behaviors, or mindsets using indirect methods including effective listening and negotiating skills
