Job Summary

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs for the Clinical Trials Office ( CTO ) in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Documents requirements, defining scope and objectives, and formulates processes to parallel overall business strategies. Position has a high focus on customer service, training, education, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Analyzes current business processes and makes recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge.

  • Improves training and operational procedures within the CTO to increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Develops tools to support the training and education of CTO software and systems.

  • Leads the planning and design of CTO systems to ensure business needs are met.

  • Proactively proposes new initiatives to evaluate and promote utilization of data for industry improvement.

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on the OnCore CTMS platform.

  • Provide training sessions for clinical research teams on how to use OnCore efficiently.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting OnCore-related issues and provide timely solutions.

  • Assists in development and facilitation of CTO system reporting, trainings, and presentations.

  • Develops and facilitates CTO’s website design in collaboration with CTO management.

  • Effectively tracks project progress to facilitate the successful completion of office deliverables.

  • Actively participates in and contributes to process improvement, team building, and professional development.

  • Works directly with collaborating teams at the University to understand the individual needs of the business.

  • Creates and presents reports to CTO Leadership to support recommendations.

  • Oversees implementation of projects from beginning to completion.

  • Uses a variety of data analysis and organization tools to discover the most impactful insights.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an associate’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.
