Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Utah . The Department of Psychology at the University of Utah invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in cognitive neuroscience . This advertised position is for an open rank tenure-track faculty member. We welcome applications from any area of human cognitive neuroscience (including but not limited to attention, memory, emotion, executive functioning, perception, language, decision-making, and reasoning) with a strong theory-based research program. We especially welcome applicants who conduct research in visual cognition (e.g., visual attention, visual working memory) in both laboratory and applied settings. Candidates who can speak to the real-world impact of the processes they study are particularly well suited to the applied cognition focus of faculty already in the area. Applications will be considered from those with diverse domains of methodological expertise (e.g., EEG , neuromodulation, computational modeling, fMRI, etc.), but we especially welcome those that can build on and extend our existing expertise in cognitive electrophysiology. Candidates should have an excellent and sustained record of research with a demonstrated ability to generate extramural funding.

The Department of Psychology also values interdisciplinary approaches to research and training, and strongly encourages collaboration across four traditional programs (Developmental, Clinical, Cognition and Neural Sciences, and Social). In addition to a doctoral program in cognition and neural science, the University of Utah has an interdepartmental neuroscience graduate program:http://neuroscience.med.utah.edu. The department also has an undergraduate certificate program in Human Factors:https://psych.utah.edu/human-factors/index.php. An undergraduate program in neuroscience is being developed and the incoming faculty member would be expected to contribute to the direction of the program with other participating departments. The department promotes multidisciplinary collaboration outside of the Department of Psychology with active ties to the Consortium for Families and Health Research, the School of Computing, Bioengineering, the Business School, the College of Education, Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Radiology, the Digital Health Initiative, the Huntsman Cancer Institute ( HCI ), the Huntsman Mental Health Institute ( HMHI ), the Behavioral Health Innovation and Dissemination Center ( BHIDC ), the Utah Network for LGBTQ Thriving (ThriveNet), and the Salt Lake Veterans Administration Medical Center.
