The Department of History at the University of Utah seeks to appoint a tenure-line Assistant Professor in the History of Early Modern Europe, 1450-1750 (including the British Isles, excluding Iberia, Russia, and Eastern Europe). Scholars pursuing transnational projects and those that connect Europe to the wider world are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to research and to research-informed teaching, contributing to upper-division courses on Early Modern Europe, a lower-division European History or World History survey, an undergraduate course in historical methodology, and graduate courses in areas of specialization.

PhD in hand by July 1, 2025 preferred. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and writing sample no later than October 18, 2024. In accordance with University of Utah policy, any offer of appointment is contingent upon final approval of the President and Board of Trustees of the University of Utah.
