The Health Sciences Center seeks faculty and staff who are committed to the values of compassion, collaboration, innovation, responsibility, diversity, integrity, quality and trust that are integral to our mission.Adjunct faculty are assigned to teach generalist and specialist content throughout College of Nursing programs (pre-licensure, RN-BS, MSN, DNP, PhD) on a semester-by-semester basis.Qualifications: All adjunct faculty must hold a Masters degree or higher and, depending on the assigned teaching role and program, hold an active license to practice nursing (e.g., RN, APRN) in the State of Utah. Decisions about whether adjunct faculty are educationally and experientially prepared for an assigned teaching role are made on a case-by-case basis.Responsibilities: The major function of adjunct nursing faculty is student learning activities and evaluation, both individually and as a co-instructor. Essential responsibilities and duties are dictated by the nature and requirements of individual courses that may include, but are not limited to:1. Coordinating teaching and learning activities.2. Communicating student issues and/or concerns with directors and other member ofCollege of Nursing leadership.3. Attending course-related faculty meetings.4. Providing input into course objectives, including updates, revisions and/or deletions.5. When applicable, maintaining optimal relationships with assigned clinical agencies.6. Following course syllabi and determining student learning objectives.7. Counseling students and maintains accurate records.8. Serving as a role model for students.9.
