Summary

Transportation logistics supervisor will lead transportation logistics clerks in the daily functions of scheduling and late coding, providing additional insight to stakeholders on performance related opportunities in on-time delivery, routing and ease of customer scheduling. Management of Perdue Transportation and Live Production carrier contracts, insurance and supporting in carrier negotiations and rate for proposal. Playing a supportive role Providing weekend and operations coverage.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support and train with Transportation Business analyst on identified strategic projects.

  • Provide operations group with new approaches to solving transportation opportunities to improve on efficiency and support.

  • Develop and report out Key Performance Indicator dashboard weekly and monthly to operations leadership.

  • Develop and report out Key Performance Indicator carrier scorecard. Effectively identifying areas of opportunity and tracking carrier compliance.

  • Support role in strategic or high level presentations of transportation data.

  • Identify scheduling opportunities and streamline process through potential automation.

  • Monitor/Audit insurance compliance within the RMIS portal

  • Facilitate transportation agreements for Perdue Transportation and Live Production

  • Support commercial and dedicated carrier request for proposal (RFP’s) for Perdue Transportation

  • Identify inefficiencies in scheduling and carrier compliance.

  • Manage daily service report.

  • Produce various customer service-related reports as needed.

  • Provide valuable strategic input to address on-time delivery, routing and customer appointment scheduling challenges to improve on opportunity.

  • Provide support for weekend operations on schedule weekend day every week.

  • Stand in as backup for assigned reports in absence of transportation business analyst.

  • Stand in as backup for other operations supervisors when needed.

Minimum Education

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED :

  • College degree in a related field preferred. Experience may substitute for education

Experience Requirements

REQUIRED :

  • Prior Supervisor/Management experience.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, Power BI and Excel.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding of Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management.

Experience Preferred

3-5 years of transportation, distribution or logistics experience; strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills.
