Who we are looking for
Toyota’s VPD2 (Vehicle Performance and Development: Crash Test Evaluation Team) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Instrumentation room technician.
Reporting to the Data Solutions supervisor, the Instrumentation room technician will provide support to the Safety Test Technician & Engineering team with daily business operations.
This role will support VPDs' objective to collect and report static and dynamic data to vehicle development teams safely and accurately.
This technician's main responsibility will be to provide support in Safety Tests instrumentation lab and data acquisition support. Creating new processes and reforming existing processes. Including transformation towards digital development.
What you will be doing
Supporting Future Mobility Safety Lab readiness (ex. ISO/BEV/Autonomous)
Supporting digital transformation for technician workstyle reform
Supporting instrumentation readiness for all testing outgoing and posttest repair
Planning and Scheduling calibrations for all instrumentation, CMM, data acquisition
Creating and improving standard processes
Support and follow safety standards, kaizen and 5S efforts
Conduit with outside calibration services / planning & supporting schedule
What you bring
Attention to detail and strong organization skills
Associate degree / technical certificate / equivalent experience
Familiarity with basic electronics & soldering
Effective communication with customers and peers
Basic knowledge with DTS / FARO / Polyworks
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word for basic material making
What you may bring
Advanced internal Toyota HV / Li Ion training
Advanced automotive mechanical skills
General computer skills
Data collection and review experience
Strong trouble shooting and TBP thinking
1 year experience in Toyota Safety/Crashworthiness, Proved experience in vehicle/component safety evaluation (static and dynamic)
