Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Controller in Salinas, California. The individual will be a part of a team that oversees multiple companies specializing in agricultural coolers and other essential agricultural equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Managing general accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance for the organization and its subsidiaries.
• Coordinating with operational managers across multiple companies to align financial goals with business objectives.
• Providing financial analysis and recommendations to leadership on cost management, profitability, and investment opportunities related to agricultural equipment and facilities.
• Collaborating with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and filings.
• Leveraging financial software and systems to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial requirements across all entities.
• Developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Supervising and mentoring a small accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Managing cash flow, including monitoring liquidity and coordinating with operational teams to optimize financial performance of agricultural cooler operations and equipment divisions.
• Preparing accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or related position
• Proficiency in 3M and other accounting software systems
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required
• Experience with CRM is a must
• Ability to use Crystal Reports effectively
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven experience in auditing
• Familiarity with budget processes and financial forecasting
