Roanoke College is looking for an entry-level Barista to join our growing team. The Barista is responsible for providing excellent customer service while simultaneously creating and serving high-quality, specialty beverages. Job Responsibilities: • Provide superior customer service to every customers inquires and order requests • Follow all steps in the company's prescribed drink-making guidelines • Prepare and serve coffee drinks, specialty beverages, and food items with speed and accuracy • Receive payments from customers and return change when necessary • Maintain accurate cash drawer and complete cash-handling tasks Desired Qualifications: • Outstanding customer service skills • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to multi-task under pressure • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Ability to work quickly to meet customer demands Nice-to-Haves: • Previous experience in a barista role • Knowledge of specialty coffees and teas • Familiarity with a POS cash register system • Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain one • Agility and speed in serving drinks and completing tasks This is a full-time, 9 month position that follows the academic calendar. Uniforms and non-slip safety shoe allowance provided, along with a free meal on scheduled work days.
