Dental Assistant (EFDA I)

We are seeking a highly competent Dental Assistant with excellent interpersonal communication skills to work at our new dental office with state-of-the-art equipment and furnishing.

Site Location: West Salem Clinic - Dental | 1233 Edgewater St NW

Position Status: Full-time | Monday - Friday | 8am - 5pm

Salary: DOE, $18.65 - $23.30 - $27.95

Sign-on Bonus : $1000 (Internal candidates that are currently employed here at NWHS are not eligible for a sign-on bonus.)

Referral Bonus: $500 (Referral bonus’ expire at the close of this job posting)

YOUR ROLE:

Come join our Dental team! As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) you will assist the Dentist in examining and treating patients and become part of a strong and positive team focused on helping others.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Assists dentists or dental hygienist in transfer of instruments utilizing standard dental assisting principles. Including “4 handed” dentistry in preparation and delivering dental materials and instruments.

  • Take digital radiographs to assist in oral evaluation and treatment planning.

  • Follow established protocols for disinfecting and sterilizing operatories and dental instruments.

  • Promotes teamwork and fosters cooperation among dental staff. Creates a patient centered environment in which we make all attempts necessary to schedule and treat patients in a timely manner.

  • Takes vital signs and reviews and updates patient history as directed. Lays out appropriate instruments for procedures and provides emergency evaluation of patients when necessary.

  • Restocks the rooms as necessary.

  • Represents the Agency in the community.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified EFDA

  • X-ray certified

  • One-year dental assisting experience preferred

  • English/Spanish preferred
