Job Description Summary

We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer that has passion to develop and deliver great software products. The right staff engineer shall be a self-motivated, team player who collaborates effectively with the team on diverse, fast-moving projects. He or She will help us build a new team in Spain to become part of our highly technical Agile teams focused on advanced laboratory instrument software development for flow cytometry applications. The products are used in patient healthcare and medical research. The team will be predominantly English-speaking, and closely collaborating with other English-speaking teams internationally.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in product requirement review, analysis, software architecture subsystem components, interfaces specification design.

  • Help build a new local software development team.

  • Lead the product feature development within the team and collaborate effectively with other cross-functional teams.

  • Implement, unit test, and debug the cutting-edge laboratory instrument software, and integration of application software and device firmware.

  • Support product, perform root cause analysis for issues, and continue to improve the product.

  • Use software engineering best-practices for creating well-structured, documented, and unit tested components.

  • Participate in an Agile / Scrum process, including requirements definition, planning, and scheduling, risk analysis, design review.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics, software engineering, engineering technology, Math or equivalent in related discipline.

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; strong and fluent English communication skills, both in writing and verbally.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in commercial software development engineering.

  • Leadership experience in developing enterprise or large-scale desktop software application architecture, subsystem component design, interfacing design and implementation.

  • Strong hands-on skills and proficiency in .NET Core, C#, GUI component (Angular, or WPF technology stacks), networking software application development.

  • Experience in multi-threaded program design, implementation and debug.

  • Action oriented with a focus on results. Strong analytical, problem-solving skill.

  • Demonstrated positive work ethic with a strong commitment to achieving project goals.

  • Experience with the Agile process and practice.

  • Experience with instrument control, real-time data acquisition, processing, and display for scientific, medical instrumentation is preferred.

  • Experience working within a regulated industry is preferred.
