Emerson Director of Operations, Projects, and Services France in SAINT PRIEST, France

The main purpose of this key role is to provide leadership and direction to the Projects and Services organization in France, ensuring alignment with European guidelines. The Director of Operations will be responsible for defining and crafting the annual operating budgets and guaranteeing the capacities and skills vital for accurately implementing projects and maintenance activities. This role involves defining and implementing the human and material resources and the means necessary to achieve the set objectives.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • To implement a two-way communications plan to keep the operations team advised.

  • To work in partnership with the French management team to analyze and implement the strategic plan incorporating the strategic directions of both the World Area and business units.

  • To develop annual operating budgets in conjunction with Finance and Sales leadership and drive monthly review and forecasting activities through POR.

  • To handle the S&OP process and lead monthly meetings to evaluate and anticipate the operational load (e.g. analysis of forecasts and operational outstanding).

  • To ensure operational readiness, capacity and utilization while improving customer-facing beneficial capabilities in FEED, consultancy knowledge, and the integration of the new portfolio offerings through organizational development.

  • To maintain project controls (PMO) and risk management to ensure consistent project performance.

  • To drive and embed a culture of continuous improvement of performance and innovation to deliver efficiency and speed of execution.

  • To leverage the capabilities of the European Hubs and Global Engineering Centers to improve the performance and cost-effectiveness of the organization.

  • To be an integral part of the Southern region management team as well as the European one, sharing knowledge, supporting each other, and contributing to key initiatives.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.

  • Proven experience in the automation industry with broad technical knowledge of different industry segments (Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Refining, Pharma, etc).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational management roles.

  • Proficiency in English and French for making presentations, negotiating, and interacting in daily written and verbal communication.

  • Strong customer interfacing skills and commercial savvy.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Additional education in business administration, operations, or project management is considered a plus.

  • Extensive understanding and experience of business drivers in Project Management.

  • Familiarity with service management and service excellence

  • Proven track record of effective leadership and line management.

  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment within a sophisticated matrix organization.
