Must have the following in order to apply:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in an education setting.
  • Experience in budgeting, curriculum implementation and program evaluation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Operate standard recreational, office and computer equipment.
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Middle School teaching experience.

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Education, the Assistant Director of Middle School Programs (MSP) will perform all duties to support programming to ensure service to children, parents, and support staff. Responsible for oversight of middle school programs to include implementation of curriculum and direction and leadership of staff at assigned sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and supervises middle school programs including direct supervision of Site Directors.
  • Visits programs and conducts evaluations as directed by the Executive Director of Education.
  • Helps create and implement site and department budget, as well as knowledge of grant budget and budget tracking.
  • Responsible for annual evaluations, quality training and staff development for directors at assigned sites.
  • Staffs the sites of his/her responsibility and helps find additional coverage for all sites as needed to meet grant contract standards.
  • Responsible for follow up to all visits by JWB and internal audits.
  • Establishes rapport with parents, staff, school faculty and school principal.
  • Ensures and maintains school sites and YMCA equipment, supplies and inventory.
  • Reviews accounting books and ensures payments are up to date.

Pay: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour; depends on experience. Benefits are offered.
