JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Sr. Manager, Cloud Business Office to support our worldwide software engineering solutions on AWS, Azure and Ali cloud. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud computing platforms and strong communication and relationship building skills. The Sr. Manager must be well versed in Agile Delivery, Cloud Governance, Learning Development and Self-Service in order to perform the duties that enable application teams to leverage the cloud products and services delivered by Infrastructure and Cloud Delivery (ICD). The role will coordinate cloud training, foster skill development among our teams, manage communications and communication tools for internal and external communications across a wide array of stakeholders. The successful candidate will promote self-service, pattern-based infrastructure provisioning to better serve and partner with our application engineering teams. This role is crucial for the company as we transform the core platforms and digital applications on modern PaaS and SaaS based cloud infrastructure.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required Experience and Education:

  • BS in computer science/related field or equivalent experience, education, certifications

  • 7+ years leading technical teams across a wide variety of engineering disciplines

  • 2+ years’ experience with major cloud hosting service providers, with focus on AWS

  • 2+ years’ experience leading agile delivery teams

  • 2+ years of agile transformation experience

Required Attributes

The ideal candidate will have the ability to:

  • Coordinate and organize Cloud focused training across all of Global Technology teams to include self-paced, instructor led and customized training

  • Transform traditional intake model to a self service to enable rapid application development

  • Effectively solve problems with the ability to carry tasks and projects to completion

  • Operate with excellent interpersonal skills and build strong relationships

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing across a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders and IT teams; ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders

  • Work well under pressure while remaining focused and professional during high stress situations

Preferred:

  • Graduate Degree in a technical discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of bigger and smaller bodies of work across the team, while balancing short-term goals and long-term vision

  • Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success

  • Good balance of IQ & EQ as an expert problem solver that is to be able to solve challenges across people, process and technology

  • Experience with Cloud governance models

  • Strong influencing skills and an ability to overcome barriers while driving change

  • Foundational Certification in one or more Cloud technologies

  • Experience in developing, rolling out and maintaining OKR’s

  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities

  • Experience operating in Scaled Agile Framework

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and containerization (e.g., EKS)

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Harness, GitLab CI/CD)

  • Proven track record in demand management, resource optimization, and cost control

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Cloud Business Office Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategies for managing cloud infrastructure demand across the organization, with a focus to provide self-service capabilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand current and future demand and resource requirements

  • Monitor demand trends and forecast future demand to support strategic planning

  • Optimize and automate to minimize cost while meeting operational needs

  • Design and execute a comprehensive training program focused on cloud technologies and infrastructure

  • Support teams new to cloud with training, best practices and architecture guardrails to enable rapid application development

  • Delivers right sized cloud training solutions to ensure teams are empowered to leverage cloud technologies

  • Coordinate training schedules and logistics to ensure timely delivery and maximum participation.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve the program based on feedback and evolving technology trends.

  • Collaborate with Global Technology Learning and Development leads to identify skill gaps and develop targeted training solutions..

  • Develops end user and front end requirements and evolution of self-service tools to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment flow.

  • Partners with ICD engineering teams to maintain and improve a robust, user-friendly product/service list and multi-cloud management platform to standardize self-service offerings for application teams across AWS, Azure and Ali Clouds.

  • Assists with organization/operational change management communications planning

  • Foster a culture of transparency and knowledge sharing through regular updates and communication channels.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align communication efforts with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Develop and maintain document storage and communication tool usage strategy and approach for ICD

  • Develop and maintain cloud success stories to share in Global Technology communications and Town Halls

  • Develop and maintain all cloud related communications across Global Technology

  • Contributes to new continuous improvement methods across Agile, Process Management and Product Development disciplines

  • Considers the entire ecosystem while making decisions, from technical implications to business needs, time to market, engineering trade-offs, and more

Project Management & Engineering Execution

  • Fosters a culture of engineering excellence and accountability to produce best-in-class software solutions with a focus on team, quality, agility, trust, and timely delivery

  • Provides clarity and connection from Application Engineering teams to ICD Product Owners to improve application development timelines

  • Interface with ID&SS PMO, TPM and ICD leadership as required to report on key initiatives

  • Elevate and manage risks, issues and dependencies

  • Contributes to quality and consistency in engineering development principles and practices as well as delivery methods by determining and implementing best-in-class techniques and processes

  • Supports achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.

  • Understands and meets the needs of key stakeholders.

  • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and direct reports.

  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new plans or processes. Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually.

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $190,154 annually.

Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $116,205 to $209,169 annually.

New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually.

Washington, D.C. Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $105,641 to $190,154 annually.

Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
